Court hears complaint over Sportsbet restrictions

Robert Euan MacMillan argued before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal that Sportsbet engaged in misleading advertising and conduct in promoting its betting services and should pay him A$35,000 ($32,100) in damages.

He told the tribunal his betting account was restricted after he won A$22,500 over five weeks and argued he could have won A$35,000 if the restrictions had not been imposed to break his streak. Sportsbet argued the complaint should be dismissed and denied any deceptive acts.
