Genting to Build $960.4 Mln vessel to tap growing Asia cruise market

Genting Hong Kong, the operator of Star Cruises, said it has agreed on a US $960.4 million contract to build a cruise ship designed to cater to the “unique demands of Asian clientele,” in particular in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The new vessel is expected to strengthen the group’s cruise brand and allow it to compete more effectively in Asia Pacific’s growing cruise market. The vessel is expected to be ready for delivery on 12 October, 2016.
