Hotel manager pleads guilty to machine winnings misuse

Martin Clyve Lamplough, former manager of the Counties Inn in Pukekohe, pleaded guilty to failing to deposit NZ$27,016 ($21,619) in gaming machine winnings from the hotel that were to go to the New Zealand Community Trust and instead using the money to pay his business bills. The money represented one week’s take from May 2012. Lamplough had been warned several times over the previous year about late deposits of machine winnings and issued a NZ$2,500 penalty.
