Macau Jockey Club loss more than doubles

The Macau Jockey Club’s annual loss rose to about 50 million patacas ($6.3 million) in 2012 from 17.8 million patacas a year earlier. The club blamed the impact on nearby construction works for the city’s light railway system, but its president said business rebounded late in the year from a nadir over the summer. Gross revenue from racing bets fell 19.1 percent to 356 million patacas.
