A joint venture by a South Korean casino operator and Japanese gaming company has acquired the Paradise Casino Incheon in a step toward the development of a new 140.7 billion won ($125.4 million) Incheon casino resort due to open in 2016. The casino is located in the Hyatt Regency Incheon hotel. Sega Sammy, which has 45% stake in the venture with South Korea’s Paradise Co, said it would send directors and staff to “directly acquire the operational know-how of a casino facility”. Sega Sammy is also developing a 392 billion won hotel and entertainment complex in Busan after winning the bidding early this year. If Japan legalizes casinos, the company also hopes to put a casino in the Phoenix Seagaia Resort complex in Miyazaki that it acquired last year.
