Sri Lanka postpones approval of tax amnesty for casino venture

Sri Lanka’s parliament this week put-off approving a tax amnesty for the island nation’s first foreign casino venture, after opposition legislators pointed out technical irregularities in presenting the bill. The controversial Casino Tax Relief Bill was taken-up before 225-legislators on Tuesday, which will give concessions to a 350 million dollar project backed by Australia’s James Packer’s Crown Limited.
